Suggested Automotive Maintenance Schedule
The service procedures and intervals listed here are based on averages established by manufacturers but may vary by type of vehicle.
- Every 3,000 Miles
- Oil and filter change
- 10-point mechanical/safety inspection
- Every 6,000 miles
- Rotate and balance tires including inspection of front and rear brake systems
- Every 12,000 miles
- Every 18,000 miles
- Replace air and fuel filters and PCV valve
- Every 30,000 miles
- Service automatic transmission
- Replace spark plugs and inspect wires and connectors
- Replace engine coolant, tighten and replace hoses and fasteners, as required
- Every 60,000 miles
- Inspect and replace timing belt, if appropriate
- Check and replace shocks and/or struts, as required
- Clean, inspect, and repack wheel bearings
